Dear Tanya, thank you doesn't seem to be enough... I’ve been lurking in the background on and off for a while having first discovered this wonderful community around the time of your book launch.
It is only in the past couple of months that I have had a pocket of space to respond to your invitations to write. You’ve created the most beautiful, welcoming and inclusive community it has been such a gentle way for me to find my way back to the page
Each prompt has been like a kind companion that walks beside you with a soft, gentle hand on the back, one that offers comfort and reassurance and the brevity and word limit is a wonderful way to work that writing muscle without tiring it. It has been such a safe and enriching space for me
Your generosity, wisdom, warmth and unerring encouragement provide a lantern to any writer who may out looking in the dark for words. Thank you xxx
This means a lot to me, to feel its been of some use to you as you return to and expand still further your own writing community offerings and your substack. I know I’m not using this space the way Substack wants its writers too, but I want to try and keep a little space which is always open and where the content is focussed on what subscribers write rather than me on broadcast mode (as I am in the book and have to been when teaching/giving talks). xxx
Thank you so much Tanya. Honestly, it has been so uplfiting and empowering following your guiding words and beautiful work. And I am not sure how to eloquently or adequately express my gratitude... To be honest, I have no idea what I am doing here (!) on Substack and I am sure I'm not using it how they want me to, I find the noise a little terrifying and I know I need to somehow work through the fear and throb of a vulnerability hangover every time I go to hit publish... But if there's anything that your generous wisdom and creative spirit has shown me, it is to clear a space for a creative life, make meaning through the everyday and bring that which is out of the line of sight alive through the stories we share and in our interactions with others. You have also been such a role model and lighthouse of hope in terms of how we can make space for others and how we can kindle both courage, hope and authenticity through creativity. Thank you again so much xxx All the best from Cornwall xxx
